The
Quadrangle
(Quad) is nestled within a courtyard area and
houses approximately 800 students in five coed
halls: Bates, Law, Oberholtzer (OB), Settegast,
and Taub. Residents reside in two
double-occupancy suites (a total of four
residents) equipped with a private bath. Floors
are coed, but suites are single-gender. Residents
can arrange the furnished rooms to suit their
needs.

Oberholtzer Hall. OB Hall is centrally
located in the Quads. Residents will find many
offices there including Housing Services, Area
Coordinator, Residence Halls Association (RHA),
Urban Experience, Residential Life, and the
Executive Director. The OB Service
Center provides mail service, faxing,
photocopying, change, 1Card services, and more. OB cafeteria and the convenience store are located
on the south side of OB. The OB Ballroom,
located on the 2nd floor, holds many events. Some Honors classes are held on the 3rd floor of
OB.
Pricing. Pricing for honors,
out-of-state and international students is the
same. Prices shown are based on a full academic
year agreement (Fall & Spring semesters). Residents will pay for one semester at a time
(half the Academic Year price is charged to the
student's fee bill each semester). The meal plan
is also charged in the same manner and at the same
time as the room charge (half the Academic Year
price is charged to the student's fee bill each
semester). Students enrolled for Summer Session I
or IV may reside on-campus during that session for
half the Summer rate.
Security. All residents are required to
use their Cougar 1Card to gain entry to their
hall. This prevents unauthorized people from
entering residential areas. There are two
entrances to each building. Residents will
receive a special patented key to access their
room. The doors lock when closed and have peep
holes. Suite doors are lockable on both sides.
Each floor typically has two RAs. A Desk
Assistant is stationed in OB Hall during after
hours. UH has its own police department that
offers an escort service.
Smoking.
The RLH facilities are
smoke-free. Residents are not allowed to smoke in
the buildings.
Floor Plans. Most rooms
are normal double room suites. There are
slight variances including a private double room
(no suite room), a single room suite (suite with a
double room), and a three person private room. All rooms in the Quadrangle are charged the same
Double rate. New applicants may not select a
particular type of room. Residents
transferring or going through Priority Room
Sign-up may select from available rooms.
